2 Weeks Old!

my fav pic of me and the boy... look at him smile at his momma!

big feet! he has daddy's toes ;-) we think God gave Ethan a thumb for a big toe on accident.

his old man face...

in the hospital... he hasn't seen a passy since

Hey everybody!
Ethan is now 2 weeks old! It's hard to believe it's already been 2 weeks since I pushed out this big boy... but yet it seems like forever with the sleepless nights and never leaving the house. I rarely know what day it is. Well, Ethan broke us in gently, giving us lots of sleep in the first week. We were very appreciative! But, oh, how things change! He's now getting fussy at night until momma rocks him back to sleep. Excuse me for trying to stay in bed...haha. I can fool him into sleeping an extra hour or 2 and then the "bloody murder" screams begin. "Feed me NOW!" But we're really only having to get up for one unbearable shift (usually between 2-4am). I can handle the midnight shift alone and let daddy sleep, but not the early morning. Dadddy pulls diaper duty (doody) and then momma feeds!

Here's a quick pic of the cutie sleeping in my lap today... he loves to have his arms out!

Happy Birthday Ethan Joshua!

Welcome to Ethan Joshua Timmerman! Born 5:58pm, December 8th, 2009. 9lbs, 1oz, and 20in long!

Just wanted to post some pics of Ethan's first 36 hours. Mom and baby are doing well. Mom and Dad are trying their best to function on VERY little sleep. ;)

Enjoy the pics and please pass them around to anyone that might want them.

A Good Laugh

Quick story.... yesterday we went to Chili's for lunch. As you can imagine, people really stare at a 9 month pregnant lady... some in shock, some smile, some touch your belly, and some tell you ALL about their pregnancy and kids.... well, we got a great response as we walked out the doors of Chili's. I was about one step past a lady coming into the restaurant when we heard "OH... MY... GOSH!" Turns out I was the "oh my gosh" she was referring to. I thought about turning around and making some smart remark while swinging at her. But, that was just a fun thought to freak her out. We just kept walking and laughing. I guess I'm getting to be quite a shocking site?!?

No Baby Yet?!?

Well, Ethan's about one week late according to the doctor. Seems I have a really cozy belly, so he's not real interested in leaving. I hope this isn't a clue of what's to come after high school... haha. (will he ever move out?!?)

As some of you may know, doctors don't really like you going much past one week of your due date. In fact, they get a little freakish. However, I'm still feeling pretty good, so I don't think it's that big of a deal. BUT, I had a NST (non stress test) today to check on Ethan and everything turned out "beautiful" as the nurse put it. His heart rate and my little contractions... it all looked good. We got to the office about 9am and waited to do the NST. After the NST, we stayed in the NST room for a while and waited for an exam room. Then we waited some more.... then they moved us into an exam room. Then we waited. Then we waited some more... with my bare butt covered by a "gown" (AKA-paper napkin) sitting in a cold room... and waited. THEN, we finally saw the nurse (they were a little behind schedule). I was still about 85% effaced and now 3cm dilated. The nurse was excited and tried to talk me into coming into the hospital the next day to be induced... or to have her "accidentally" break my waters ;-) She was so funny. You would have thought she was going to be the grandma of this little boy. She was just as anxious as the rest of the family. After about 3 hours of being in the office they asked us to come back after lunch to have an ultrasound so they could check my amniotic fluid levels (that's their other concern when you go past your due date). Turns out the doctors really want a minimum level of 5. They really prefer a level of about 8. Well, Ethan was surrounded by a level of about 14! Needless to say, he's pretty comfortable in there and is safe to stay quite a while.

As a bonus the ultrasound tech showed us all kinds of 4d live motion shots of our little boy. We saw his hair... a pretty good head of hair it seemed. We got to watch him move his little feet. AND, we got to see his face with his pudgy little nose and he was moving his mouth. He must have been singing in there ;-) He showed us his hands and fingers. Almost a "talk to the hand" kind of moment. He showed us his pudgy little fingers... they look like my pudgy fingers! But, watching his little mouth open and close was probably the coolest thing. She printed his face for us... so a fun little prize for our day of patience.

Love you all and we'll keep you posted!

40 Weeks! No baby?!?

Well, my due date is in just 2 more days... and so far Ethan is staying put. All is well, though. As of Wednesday I was 80% effaced and 2cm dilated. The Dr. said, "maybe we'll see you this weekend!" Well, maybe they will, but not yet. Ethan's been a little quieter than normal, but he has his moments where he'll still move lots. So, who really knows what's going on in there. Bry is very anxious to meet him, as is the rest of the family. As for me, I'm pretty content just chillin' and waiting for his arrival. I suppose I'm in no real rush since I'm the one that has to push him out. BUT, considering how comfortable this pregnancy has been, I'm believing Ethan is just going to jump right out with a quick and easy delivery (and don't try and tell me your horror stories of anything otherwise)!

I can't remember if I mentioned our window fiasco a couple weeks ago.... BUT, we have new windows and have since had to re-do ALL the trim work around the house, including 2 interior sliders. Here are a couple pics from that project ;-)

Oh, I almost forgot. For all you single ladies, if you want to know how to really impress the guys just hop in the back of a pick-up truck and tie up a flat screen TV while 9 months pregnant. Apparently, that really catches their eye. I even got a marriage proposal from a complete stranger. Gotta love a woman that can handle some ropes and drives a truck!

And... Happy Thanksgiving from the fat girl and her hubby ;-) This is what happens when you eat a whole turkey!!!!

39 Weeks!

Here we are.... nearing the end ;-) Happy early Thanksgiving to everyone! Had a Dr.'s appointment on Thursday. Ethan was in the best possible position for delivery, so lets pray he's stays right where he is! I was 70% effaced and about 1 1/2 cm dilated. The doc doesn't expect Ethan to come on his due date (Nov.30th) but perhaps just a couple days after. But, one never knows! I'm still surprisingly comfortable. Waking up to marshmallow hands and feet is a little weird, but it usually wears off a bit as the morning progresses.

Bry is very anxious for Ethan's arrival. He said he's tired of waiting and he just wants to meet the little guy. BUT, seeing as how I have to birth him and I'm a first time mom, I'm still ok with Ethan waiting for his due date ;-)

We'll try and keep everyone posted through the holiday via blog and facebook!

38 Weeks and Chillin'

Well, well, well, look who decided to write on their blog... Sorry for the delay. My good friend Jane kindly reminded me that it has been far too long since I wrote my last entry. I do apologize, time just seems to fly away these days ;-)

Not too much new... well, I am a bit fatter. My appetite has really increased lately, so I'm getting a little worried that I might start to put on some unnecessary pounds... uh-oh! I just want to keep Ethan nice and light. I don't need to be poppin' out some 13 pounder!

Ethan is still crazy busy in my belly - constantly pushing, twisting, punching, and kicking. He used to sleep through church on Sunday mornings even while I practiced and played with the worship team. But, in the last month he's been waking up during band practice. I've had a couple Sundays where he's actually kicked the back of my guitar as it rested on the side of my belly during worship. It's funny cause you want to stop singing and be like, "oh my gosh, my baby just kicked my guitar!" BUT, something tells me it's not the appropriate time to share that kind of thing. Although, I think most of the church would get a kick out of it (no pun intended).

My recent doctor's visit was funny. All the other prego girls in the office told me I was far too happy to be 37 weeks. Not to mention most of them thought I was too small to be that far. Apparently I'm supposed to be miserable and yelling "Get this thing out of me!" Sorry to disappoint everyone, but I'm just fine with Ethan waiting till his due date (Nov.30th). Now, I might be singing a different tune in another week, but so far so good!

For all of you that dying to know... I've gained a whopping 30 lbs. so far. Where?!? I'm not sure where, but the scale doesn't lie ;-) I think my cheeks are getting a little thicker? (the ones on my face). Well, let's be honest, you all just want to see pictures, so I'll stop talking and give you the latest shots.

Enjoy!

We took these pics last night. I was pretty much in shock when I saw them. It's still a little shocking to walk by the mirror. haha!

I'm always trying to capture Ethan's gymnastics on video... so I managed to catch some brief flips and kicks or whatever the heck he's doing in there. Watch closely, he's moving the whole time, but it's not so easy to see all the movement. My belly's a little ugly, but I hope you find this entertaining ;-)

Pictures!

35 Weeks Prego Today!

Bry liked this pictures because he thought it made my tummy look huge...
Thanks babe!

For those of you that have been keeping up with the blog... here are a couple pics of our new garage room.
We have since added a lovely couch and ottoman. We spare no expense for Ethan! Oh wait, this room has nothing to do with Ethan. woops!

I would like to point out my handy work with this custom built screen by Jen. Custom trim work and everything. We've got the Wii and the original Xbox in this room. I did find out that playing Tony Hawk Proskater will make you sick sitting a couple feet from a 6 ft. wide screen. (in case you were wondering). In fact, Bry came and sat with me for a few minutes and ended up leaving because he was getting sick watching. haha!

I suppose you really care about the baby's room. I'll post some pics of Ethan's room as soon as it's a little more situated ;-)

Oh crap! 35 Weeks...

Well, here we are... only 5 weeks to go. WOW! I still can't believe it. Baby Ethan's room is FULL of stuff. We've finally got his crib and changing table setup and we've got the last of his furniture and we're trying to figure out where Ethan is going to fit in his new room. ha!

I'm feeling pretty good most of the time. My hands and feet have been really sore and slightly swollen. Mostly my fingers have a hard time functioning. In the middle of the night they get so stiff and sore that I can barely bend them. It usually takes a couple hours in the morning for me to be able to make a full fist. You would think that I have these swollen, pudgy hands but it's more like arthritis... it's really weird. AND, playing guitar is certainly not helping (and I'm sure karate might play a small role). I'm determined to keep leading worship and keep teaching karate until the last week or so, much to Bryan's dismay. He's constantly encouraging me to "STOP!" "Slow down!" But, surprise... I don't know how to do that! So, instead he's been watching me crash every evening around 5 o'clock. I'll be totally "normal" and then, in a matter of seconds, turn into a zombie. It scared him the first couple times it happened (like on our date night). BUT, now he's just learning to expect it (even when I don't).

We had our tour of the hospital the other day... just part of the routine so we know where to go and what to expect when I go into labor. We're a little behind, so I was the "most pregnant" girl there... I was the one sitting down every-time we passed a chair. I think everybody was looking at me laughing. Anyways, the tour was yet another moment of realization... "OH CRAP, we're having a baby!" So, we keep saying 80% excited at 20% freaked out... and the numbers keep changing cause freaking out is taking on a larger %'age everyday. Anyways... I've posted a couple old pics... and I'm going to post a couple more shortly. So, check back later in the day for more pictures!

Holy Crap!

We’ve made it 32 weeks… Do you know what that means?!? YES, only 8 weeks to go. Hence, “Holy Crap!” I’m not sure if we’re really ready, I guess that’s why God lets us carry babies in our belly for 9 months… maybe He thinks that’ll give us the proper prep time ;-)

Well, it’s been a busy couple weeks. We’re still working on projects around the house. We’ve got a crib in Ethan’s room along with loads of clothes! It’s finally starting to sink in that we’re going to have a baby.

Ethan is going to be very well rounded musically. Not only has he been to hear Toby Keith, Trace Atkins, Rascal Flatts & Sugarland, but we gave him a little taste of old school music with an Alice Cooper concert. Oh yeah! Very entertaining! The best part is that I got to take my dad to the concert. We’ve never been to a concert together and he grew up listening to Alice Cooper, so a fun father daughter outing. I’m not sure Bryan appreciated the show as much as my dad, but it was certainly a memorable experience. A great opportunity for people watching (in case you were wondering ;-)

31 Weeks and Still Cuttin’ It

For those of you that actually keep up with the blog… sorry it’s been a while. We’ve been hard at work on the new addition to our home… “The Garage Room.” What started out as a “storage” room has turned into almost a $1000 room. I guess considering the room was formerly part of the garage $1000 really isn’t that much to spend to have a nice finished room. BUT, it still is a lot of money and when all is said and done who knows how much we will have spent. All things considered, the room has turned out quite nice and is storing things beautifully ;-)

Most of you know me well and know that I can’t just sit around while construction is going on around me… I have to take part. Well, although I can’t quite bend and move like I used to, I still insisted on constructing as much as possible. This is a picture of me doing a little sawing… don’t worry, I plugged Ethan’s ears, while I was building this frame for a screen. You didn’t know I was carpenter, did you??

The 3rd trimester is going well. I’m still feeling pretty good. I’m trying hard to stay active, but everything I do seems to make me miserably sore. What’s with that?!? I get sore from sitting these days! Ethan does a lot of pushing and kicking and then more pushing. I think he’s a little upset with the shortage of space... (something that apparently makes us both VERY uncomfortable). I did find out that he takes after his dad and has a love for chocolate. This week after eating a couple Oreo cookies, Ethan started doing back flips. And everyday this week he’s gone pretty crazy after I’ve eaten a couple cookies. It’s hilarious! Bryan enjoys watching my stomach jump and is amazed at how pronounced the thumps and pushes are. We are looking forward to being able to make out a hand or foot print. In fact, he’s doing a little boxing on my belly as we speak. I think he’s already working on his karate techniques ;-)

What Were We Thinking?!?

Hey everybody! I’m now 28 weeks prego and feelin’ fat ;-) I’m kidding…. Well, sort of. I’m actually feeling very good. Everything I read warns me of all the things I could be feeling at this point in my pregnancy, but so far so good. Most days the only thing that makes me feel miserable is the lack of space in this small body of mine. I only seem to be growing in the belly (so all of you that thought you might see me with a big butt or double chin or whatever…. Too bad). Ethan’s been kicking less and pushing more. I’ll start to feel pressure or discomfort in my belly and look down and realize that I’m suddenly lop-sided… one side of my stomach will look like the alien from Space Balls is about to pop out any minute, often buldging a couple inches and feel hard as rock. It’s so weird!

So, onto the title of this blog entry. Bry and I had been thinking about purchasing a shed for some time. Turns out we have a lot of junk… I mean “stuff.” So, we thought if we could get the lawn mower and some of the garage stuff out of the garage and into the shed, we might actually have a little garage space. No, no, no, not for our cars silly! Our cars are too big for that… for more stuff of course! Well, we’ve been going back and forth about the shed for a couple of months probably. Well, last Thursday night we were tossing around the idea of closing in part of the garage. After talking to his dad Thursday night, Bry tells me if we want to enclose the garage we can start Saturday with the help of his dad. SO, we decide, go for it! So, we grabbed our dads and poof, by the end of the day Saturday, we had a completely enclosed room in our garage! Only a week later, the walls are prepped and ready to paint, the room is insulated, has a/c, electrical sockets are run and we even have recessed lighting fully functional with a 3-way switch even! So, we selected some colors this morning and within the next couple days we might just call this room complete. How’s that for a room in a day! It’s a good thing I’ve been watching all of that HGTV!

One More Thing...

I almost forgot to tell you that I started having my first nesting symptoms. I'm going crazy because there's still so much crap in the baby's room and I just want to have a clean slate when we start putting in furniture. So, I've spent the last 2-3 days cleaning out drawers, filing papers, and generally cleaning up my office space so we can hopefully find new homes for some of the crap in the baby's room. I think we're going to go ahead and put an a/c duct in the garage and try and clean it up a little so we can have a/c storage and one day turn it into a play room. I'll keep you posted! ;-)

PS- make sure you read the next blog entry... it's also from today!

26 Weeks & Feelin’ Good

All is well in my belly! Just this morning our little boy was poppin’ like popcorn and (as usual) I tell Bryan, “if you want to feel your son pop like popcorn come put your hand on my belly.” I’m thinking that if I don’t move from the position I’m laying in then he’ll keep kicking around. So, Bry puts his arm over and his hand on my belly and….. NOTHING! Yes, that’s right, the story of this pregnancy (and maybe every pregnant woman), everytime I feel a ton of kicking, Bry puts his hand on my belly just in time for nothing. What’s up with that?!?

We recently went to Orlando and met some friends to see Kathy Griffin… Hilarious! They were asking all about the baby and if we had thought of a name yet, etc. Well, “Baby ‘E’” was our abbreviation for the name Ethan (which we really liked). However, we have yet to look in a baby book of names, so we wanted to keep our options open in case we found another name we really liked. Through sharing the name Ethan we discovered that we each thought the other was not sure about the name when, in fact, we both really liked it. SOOOO, it’s settled… our little boy’s name will be Ethan (unless he delivers and we decide he doesn’t look like an Ethan - haha). We have yet to agree on a middle name, so we’ll keep you posted.

Food cravings?? Well, I still haven’t had any major weird cravings, aside by the drive by Wendy’s which makes me think, “Mmmmm, Wendys!” BUT, I didn’t stop. However, I can always eat pizza! My lunches these days have consisted of either bagel bites (pepperoni pizza) or self-made English Muffin pizzas with Kraft Singles cheese and the occasional pepperoni slices on top. Pretty ridiculous, I know. Fruit, yogurt & granola also has been a delicious snack of mine…. Yummmm! Other than that, it’s my usual picky diet. I have branched out on some things since I got prego. I’m hoping Ethan won’t be as picky as his mother and maybe enjoy all kinds of food like his daddy ;-)

Already keeping a schedule… it’s interesting because Ethan already has a pretty regular schedule. He may stay up all night, I’m not sure (I think I blogged about that before). But, he’s still kicking like crazy in the mornings, a little bit after lunch, he may make a brief appearance after dinner, but then he makes his grand exit when I lay down to bed. In fact, his most “severe” kicking happens when I’m nice and relaxed in my cozy bed…. WHAM! It’s always a pleasant surprise. This week’s excitement was feeling Ethan’s hick-ups for the first time. I wasn’t completely paying attention at first, but I finally noticed that I wasn’t feeling a single leg or hand, but instead my whole stomach just shook like a little Belly-Earthquake. Then I noticed the rhythm… ohhhhhh (I thought) I think he’s got the hick-ups! It was very cool.

Oh, my belly button is about to disappear completely and the outty belly button is looking more and more likely. Yikes! In fact, it turns into a little bit of an outty when I’m really full.

Babymoon with my Honey

When we found out we were pregnant (we being me) we decided that a babymoon was much needed. Bry and I had talked about saving up for a trip to Italy before we had kids and now we had a kid on the way, so Italy wasn’t looking like it was going to work out. So, we decided Hawaii! Hawaii would be the perfect Babymoon… so we looked at tickets and thought we had it all figured out. It was a little expensive, but hey, it’s Hawaii… it’ll be worth every penny. Well, before we could book the trip prices took a little jump and we began to worry… “is it the responsible thing to do; to spend that much money before we have our first baby???” And now the price had jumped…. Hmmmm… time for plan B… Pelican Rapids, MN! Our good friends (& neighbors for 8 months out of the year) Clark & Vi have a great lake house in MN that we’ve spent several summers visiting in the past. So, lake bound we were…

This would normally be the part where I tell you all about the fiasco we had in our travels getting to MN, but I really don’t want to talk about it cause it’ll just piss me off, and well, I’m still on vacation ;-)

For those of you that have been keeping up with the blog, you should know that my belly button is disappearing more and more everyday (slightly depressing, but I’ll be ok). Our little boy has kept a pretty consistent kicking schedule, but since our travels he’s been all confused. I was beginning to worry… cause that’s what moms do best… and everytime I started to worry he would kick me. So, he’s fine and has been kicking up a storm when I lay down at night. He’s obviously a night owl. I think he parties all night while Bry and I sleep. This is probably something we’ll need to keep an eye on in those teenage years. They start so young these days… wow! ;-)

We’ve had an amazing trip… seeing all the “sites.” I say “sites” because they’re unique, small-town kind of sites to be seen. Mostly we drive 30 minutes
in the country (BFE) in order to get to another small town in the middle of nowhere to walk around their “downtown.” If you’ve ever walked through downtown Jensen Beach… that’s about the extent of the excitement. However, it’s been very enjoyable browsing the antique stores and random mom & pop places all around. You never know what kind of treasures you’ll find. Among the 4 of us, we’ve purchased 3 different trunks (old & cool lookin’), shoes, souvenirs, and lots of great food!

Here’s a picture of us about to be killed by the very giant Prairie Chicken in Rothsay, MN.

Although these appear to be a great buy… Clark & I decided to stick to modeling these glasses and save our money for other purchases.

Oh yeah, and I almost forgot… we celebrated my 29th birthday!!! Wow, I’m getting old and fat! Haha!

I was totally shocked when Bry got me an iPhone… definitely not a present I was expecting.
What a pleasant surprise!

Disappearing Buttons

So, one of my best friends from my childhood, Tara, is also pregnant. I should have known because our lives have always had strange parallels since we were kids. Let me give you the quick on the “big” parallels. I started dating “Bryan” in high school when she started dating “Ryan.” We dated our high school sweethearts for over a year and then broke up. Years later I got back together with Bryan and quickly after Tara was back with Ryan. Bryan and I got married, as did Tara and Ryan. And when I finally picked up the phone to surprise Tara and tell her that Bryan and I were pregnant, she beat me to the announcement, “Ryan and I are pregnant!” To which I replied… “me too!” Even stranger… we’re only a week apart on our due dates. Crazy, huh?!? All of this is just a goofy side story to lead me to a recent conversation Tara and I had about belly buttons. Tara asked me if I noticed anything weird about my belly button and indeed I had… it was slowly disappearing. My formerly tunneled, small and cute belly button that used to say “ooooooooh” is now shallow and saying “Awhhhh!” Does that make sense? My belly button ring is showing through all my shirts and people keep asking me if my in-y is now an out-y. NO! I keep wondering how long till that happens.

Anyways, as if losing my belly button isn’t enough... I also lost a button on 1 of 3 pairs of shorts that still fit. Grrrr… just a sign of “HEY! Your pants don’t fit anymore prego!” And I pull a favorite shirt of mine out of the wash and it’s missing a button. I’m losing all kinds of buttons this week! Which reminds me, I now only have 3 pairs of shorts that still fit. I’ve been wearing all maternity shorts and pants aside from those special 3 pairs of shorts. Well, breaking news… I wore a pair yesterday and was having a hard getting them buttoned and un-buttoned. SO, they’re officially retired until our baby boy arrives. So, it’s all maternity from here on out!

Our little boy has been kicking up a storm. For the first time I felt him moving in 2 places at once on my belly – about 4-5 inches apart. That was pretty crazy! He must have been doing a full body stretch or something. Bry has been able to see and feel him move almost daily, so I’m glad he can now experience some of the excitement with me. That’s all the excitement for now…

A Daddy Moment & The Other Big News

Well, first things first, I was going to start my blog without telling you the big news (besides “We’re having a baby!”)… So, almost 2 weeks ago now we went in for the big 20-week ultrasound. We took our moms and who’s presence just added to the excitement. While having the ultrasound I had to try hard not to giggle and make my belly jump as I reacted to our moms’ “oooh,” “oh my gosh,” “wow,” etc. It was fun! So of course the tech saved the best for last, after showing us the inner parts of the brain and the heart and every other body part and piece she could she finally made her way to the baby’s bottom. She pointed out the umbilical and as she followed the cord with her finger she let us know that “this, is not part of the umbilical cord!” None other than a twig and berries! Yup, it’s a boy! He made sure that it was as clear as day for all us. As much as I would love to show you the pictures, the daddy to be is very protective of his son’s “junk.” So, you’ll have to take my word for it. More good news… I don’t have to worry about pink dresses and I get to skateboard with my son when he’s old enough ;-) I can finally have an excuse to go hang out and skate the local skatepark!

My most exciting moment in the pregnancy (so far) occurred last night! I have been feeling our baby boy practicing karate in my belly for a couple weeks now. Most of the time it’s so subtle that I can’t really share the moment with anybody. In the last week or so I’ve actually been able to see the kicks and punches by watching my belly - (way more exciting than just feeling the flutters on the inside)! This last week, the boy was moving around while I was sitting on the couch… so I grabbed Bry’s hand and put it on my belly and waited patiently. We were just watching TV while I waited for Bry to feel a good kick. And poof a good little punch and I looked at Bryan and said, “Did you feel it?!?” “Feel what?” he replied. Of course I was like, how the heck did you not feel that! And you can imagine how that ended - disappointing to say the least. Well, the tables turned and last night we got ready for bed and were watching TV. Something about lying on my side tends to make the baby a little more active. He started popping me with some really strong kicks and punches, so I quickly grabbed Bry’s hand and almost immediately he kicked his daddy! It wasn’t one kick or two kicks… it was a full on attack of Bry’s hand! I was so excited that I started to shed some tears… it was so exciting for Bry to finally feel the baby like I had been feeling him. It was sooooo great! Truly a big highlight this week.

On a side note… I tried really hard to capture the belly kicks with my video camera this week. Oh course it’s nearly impossible to get the baby to do things when you’re ready for it. Haha. It would be really funny if I managed to capture a thump on camera. I’ll let you know how that goes ;-) And one more thing for those of you that keep up with the blog weekly… I thought you’d get a good laugh out of knowing that I must be developing a new allergy to the grocery because this week’s trip to Publix caused another “speeze!” If this keeps up I’m going to have to start wearing depends when I buy groceries ;-) Oh no!

Gee Wizzzz

So, I'm almost 21 weeks... I can't believe it! If being pregnant flies by this fast, I can only imagine how quickly a child grows up in the eyes of a parent. I'm beginning to catch a glimpse of just how quickly life can pass us by. We saw our little baby at our 20 week ultrasound last Thursday... 5 in. legs, big brain and about 10 oz. Almost a whole pound in my belly! The babe is about the size of a banana now from head to foot (approx. 10in. long). I still haven't figured out how all of that fits in my still small belly (well, large belly to me, but considerably small for the rest of the general public). We decided to bring the moms along for the big reveal, only we didn't actually know if this ultrasound would be the big reveal or not. You see, I've been hoping to keep the baby's sex a surprise until it was born, but Bryan (the planner that he is) wanted to know so he could plan his little heart out. We were literally in the room having the ultrasound before I decided yes or no.... but I caved and we found out. The pre-know stats were my mom & I thinking "girl" and Bry & his mom thinking "boy." So..... well, I can't tell you the sex yet, we still have some friends and family members we're trying to tell in person before I blurt it out in this blog. haha! I'll tell you soon, I promise!

Getting used to a 20 week old baby in my belly...
So, apparently, I've begun the next evolution of frequent peeing. I'm now topping the charts at approx. once every hour. I'm trying hard not to be annoyed over this... sometimes I can push the hour if I'm busy or really just don't feel like getting up. However, I'm noticing it's getting harder and harder to hold it (actually, I think it gets painful). Oh well... So, I think many of us (pregnant or not) have experienced the I laughed so hard I peed... maybe? maybe not? Well, I walked into the grocery store the other day (mind you I just peed before leaving the house - approx. 2 min. from the grocery) and started to get some things (cause that's what you do in the grocery) and BOOM! I sneezed the biggest sneeze out of no where! And well, you can guess what came with that sneeze... yup, a little pee. Now, not enough to run home over, but enough to make you wish you didn't already have your grocery cart half full. BUT, I kept strong, finished the last of my shopping and raced home. It wasn't as bad as I thought, but it really did feel like I peed myself. Needless to say I was excited to come home, use the restroom AGAIN, get a clean pair of undies and pray that I don't sneeze again. I think maybe it should be called the "speeze?" What do you think? I probably shouldn't have told you this, but I'm hoping it will be entertaining. Besides, isn't that the point of my blog.... entertain? Or is just to keep you informed? Well, either way, consider yourself informed.

On that note, I think I've gotten personal enough for one day. I'll try harder to get back on my 7 day writing schedule!

Love you all! Thanks for reading ;-)
